Message:
First of all, thank you all for your subscriptions, registrations or donation support at the News From Indian Country websites. Your financial support, especially at this critical time in the economy is essential.
We are excited to announce that IndianCountryTV.com will be broadcasting a live show from the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe Reservation on Saturday, Feb. 14th, 2009. The "live" stream will be produced at WOJB's Hand Drum Contest from 1pm until apprx 9pm that evening until winners are announced.
The stream will be a relative high resolution broadcast stream found in the PowwowTV channel digital player at IndianCountryTV.com and will be done in partnership with radio station WOJB-FM and the Menominee Nation Media Center.
With good broadband access, you should be able to view this broadcast stream in "full screen" without losing any clarity.
Our company will be turning to this technology in the future more often. Already, we have friends viewing our Television studio and channels (six) from their computer, linked to their TV screen by Firewire. The next generation of Televisions, now just appearing, will come with a web browser installed in your TV in order for you to access the Internet directly from your TV.
We will be waiting for you, as we are already there. All we intend to do, is make it better. We will be launching a two page TV Station Program Guide as part of the News From Indian Country hard copy from which you will be able to see up-coming features and indexes of current program files. If you are a current subscriber of NFIC's hard copy, you are already on our list.
We have had several people point out that they no longer sit at their computer to watch the daily Native News Update (M-F) at ICTV or other programs, but simply turn the speakers up and go about their business. They treat ICTV at times like a radio station, and occasionally view featured programs, but no longer watch my lips as they listen to the daily news feed.
Again, thank you for supporting News From Indian Country, the news site
www.IndianCountryNews.com and for visiting us at
www.IndianCountryTV where we feature American Indians, doing tribal Indian things, and more.
